If anyone may wonder,
What is Lomography ?
Well, it is a style only a camera
"Lomo LC-A" can archieve,
Initially this Russian made camera,
is regarded as poorly made and bad picture taker too,
However, in early 1990,
2 students in Vienna started a new style of photography with
their creative approach,
and soon,
you guess it, it became a style,
There are two main attribute in Lomo,
1. there is a vignette surrouding the pic ,
a vignette is the black /darken area around the corner of the pic,
2. the saturation and colour contrast .
This is due to the technique called cross-processing in dark room.
To really understand what is cross processing is,
Let me explain,
Typically , it happens when you develop film in a chemical other then it was made for.
A standard 35mm (our normal analog camera) film use C41 chemical to process the photos,
However, a Lomo colour slide film is usually process by E6 chemical,
Dont ask me what is C41 and E6, I dont know,
I know is something to process the photos though,
Ok, now the magic of Lomography lies here,
A Lomo will use a colour slide film and process it in C41 chemical and this results
in super weird combination and photos,
In order to archieve that result on my SLR,
I had to photoshop it to mimic that effect ,
So, with a powerful format like RAW, it gives more freedom for me
to further made my photos into nicer pics...
this is the original pic,
This is the LOMO-fied pic...
boonboon2k2,
I knew the existence of Lomo from Brendan
but Christina remind me of this technique...
thanks ....
