Bear Bear

This is a very long post,
It is an explanatory of a youth camp games.
Either you finish the whole thing , or don't read at all.

When I was doing assignment at 32 square just now ,
I saw a group of people was playing this killer game

And I recalled I had so much fun playing this game ,
that I skip my 2 night sleep in my 3 days 2 night youth camp.

What is this game about?
It is somehow a Liar's game ,
where manipulation skill and body language interpreting skill
play a such big role in this game.

Let get started, shall we?

First of all , Bear Bear is a game where
the more the merrier as it adds a lot of fun to the gameplay,
But for explanatory purposes ,
10 people are playing this game as that is the minimum requirement la...


There are 4 basic roles
1 Host
1 Wolf (killer, it can be more than 1 if there are a lot players)
1 Witch (doctor)
Villagers (normal peasant )

How to determine the winner,
The Killer remains as the last one standing is the winner ,
if the killers are eliminated before he can kill all the villager,
then the villagers

What about the host ?
the purpose of the host is the ensure a fair gameplay ,
and act as a narrator of the game ,

That why , it started like this ,
The host distribute 9 cards to each players ,
Let say, those who get A will be the killer ,
Those who get K will be the witch
And the other misc numbers, will be the villagers.

After everyone know their own identity
Let say, the red player is the killer and the blue player is the witch,
Only the killer know he is the killer,
and same goes for the witch,
The other villager would not know the identity of the killer and witch

But the host is the one who know everything la,
he is the narrator /judge what.
However, he don't play the game.

Then the host will initiate the rounds.

Each round is divided into "night" section and "day" section.

The first section started at night , where killer start his killing spree.
this is what will happen during the night section
"night" :1) This is the first section, the host will ask everyone to close their eyes and
make sure they close their eyes /no peeking(villager all sleeping ma).

2) Then the host will ask the killer to open his eye while make sure
all the villager to close their eye.

3) The host will ask the killer who he wan to kill,
In this case, he point at player A indicating he want to kill player A.

4) Then the host will ask the killer to close his eye,
along with the villager,

5) Now , Player A is officially dead.


Ending the first Night round

After the end of "night" section,
The "day" section begins,

This is what happen during day section,

1) Host will ask everybody to open their eyes (the villager has woke up)

2) Then , Host will announce that A is dead,

3) Host will ask the villager (including the killer) to determine the killer,
by simple majority voting system,


4) In order for the killer to survive, he had to frame the other innocent villager,
In this case , he tried to frame B to let B become scapegoat,
so he tried to convince other villagers that B is the killer ,
This is when the manipulation comes ....

Note that the host is just a neutral bystander,
he dont play the game, he host the game.


5) If the majority of the villager decides that B should be executed,
B is given a chance to appeal to the villagers, to prove his innocence ,
to explain why he is not the killer ,

However, if the majority of the villager are not convinced ,
and vote B to be executed ,
Then B is officially dead too,


But this time, B have to reveal his own identity whether he is the killer or not.

The answer should be "yes" or "no"
to maintain the mystery of the game.

Then , this ends the "day" section,

And night section begins again,
the process continues, untill

The killer is dead , or all the villager are dead.

Q: Oh ya, you may ask what the witch do ?
A: During night section, after the killer has killed somebody,
The witch has the option to heal the victim, or to grant immunity to himself for
that particular night section.

Q: What about those who are "dead' in the game,
A: They have to become observer throughout the whole game,
As they are "dead" ....


As for me , I always lose the first round when I am the killer ,
BUT , I am very good host .....
